McCarthy Doesn't Support Israel

Carolyn McCarthy only came out in support of Israel after he Jewish constituents slammed her for her lack of support during the flotilla crisis. This is unacceptable, a little too little too late. She should have come out and slammed Israel's enemies from day 1. This type of behavior has become a hallmark of her tenure as our Representative. Failing to act unless told to do so by pressure from the outside. This is not the kind of leadership that we need, or that we deserve. The 4th district deserves much better than this. Our Jewish residents are such a big part of our community and they deserve to have their heritage and traditions honored and protected. Israel is their homeland and a close friend and ally of the United States and we must stand by them and support them at all costs.

My friend and colleague Peter King (R-Seaford NY-3) recently introduced the "America Stands with Israel Act" to the house floor, which states that the United States fully supports Israel's right to defend itself. I support this bill 100% and firmly believe that this is something that we should have done many years ago. Israel is our friend and ally and we must stop at nothing to defend her.
