McCarthy Doesn't Support Israel

Carolyn McCarthy only came out in support of Israel after he Jewish constituents slammed her for her lack of support during the flotilla crisis. This is unacceptable, a little too little too late. She should have come out and slammed Israel's enemies from day 1. This type of behavior has become a hallmark of her tenure as our Representative. Failing to act unless told to do so by pressure from the outside. This is not the kind of leadership that we need, or that we deserve. The 4th district deserves much better than this. Our Jewish residents are such a big part of our community and they deserve to have their heritage and traditions honored and protected. Israel is their homeland and a close friend and ally of the United States and we must stand by them and support them at all costs.

My friend and colleague Peter King (R-Seaford NY-3) recently introduced the "America Stands with Israel Act" to the house floor, which states that the United States fully supports Israel's right to defend itself. I support this bill 100% and firmly believe that this is something that we should have done many years ago. Israel is our friend and ally and we must stop at nothing to defend her.

Congresswoman McCarthy is cleary out of touch with whats going on in our country. These brave men were finally exhonerated in a Federal Court and got the Justice that they deserved, and McCarthy is just now responding to it. This is not leadership. We deserve better than this. We need someone who will stay current with whats going on in our country and can respond to the needs his or her constituents. How can she know what her constituents need if she doesn't even know what's going on in the world?

My Support For Israel
Israel has long been a close partner, friend and ally of the United States. This partnership has been mutually beneficial both the Israeli people and the people of the United States of America. The lack of leadership in the current administration has lead to our foreign policy being largely ignored and consequently the special bond that we as a nation have always shared with Israel has been broken. During the recent flotilla crisis in West Gaza, our Congresswoman sent a letter of condolence to the families of those who died instead of slamming Israel’s enemies who staged the event, forcing them to be held accountable. I stand with Peter King and support the “America Stands with Israel Act” that he recently introduced to Congress. We must protect Israel and all she represents, as one of our greatest friends and allies.
Rep. McCarthy failed to provide an approriate response to this tragdey that has affected our ally, until she was pressured to do so by the Jewish community. This is unacceptable. As a representative of the 4th Congressional District, which has a strong, thriving Jewish community, she should have immediately denounced Israel's enemies and demonstrated solidarity with our close friend and ally. We must maintain this relationship with Israel and not let it weaken. Since 1948 we have always been Pro-Israel and it is imperative that we maintain this strong support for our ally. I stand with Israel and support our ally and all that she stands for.

Thank You!
I would like to thank all the supporters that came out for my announcement on Monday evening. It means the world to me to see the strong outpouring of support from my family, friends, colleagues and most of all the community of Lynbrook and my fellow republicans. As a life long resident of Lynbrook, this community has always meant so much to me and that is why I have dedicated my life to serving my friends and neighbors as an elected official and public servant. I have continually aimed to improve the quality of life for the residents of southwestern Nassau County and I will continue to do the same in Washington. I will fight for the needs of our residents, create jobs and force the government to practice fiscal responsibility, instead of runaway spending. I am a small businessman and certified financial planner. I know how to create jobs and I help people learn how to be fiscally responsible everyday. I will get the job done and preserve the American Dream. Again Thank you all for coming out and I look forward to working with all of you toward a Becker victory in November!

Day 1
Yesterday Francis X. Becker Jr. (Nassau County Legislator 6th district) officially announced his candidacy in the race for the Congressional Seat in the 4th District of New York. It was an exciting day to say the least. Fran was introduced by Mayor Brian Curran (R-Lynbrook, also the republican state assembly candidate) and his brother Hilary Becker who is a Lynbrook Trustee. Then Fran came out and pumped up the crowd with his announcement. His message is simple: Create Jobs in Nassau County, lower taxes and preserve the American Dream for the people of the 4th Congressional district. He put it out there that he is a local businessman and understands how to create jobs; He is a Certified Financial Planner and understands fiscal responsiblity and will help to restore that in Washington. He is a life long resident of the 4th Congressional District, he grew up here, raised his family here and understands the needs and concerns of his constituents. Our residents have had little to no representation in Washington over the past 14 years and now, in a time when they need it most, their representative is in the Hamptons rather than working hard in the district where she should be. It's time for this to end. In his speech Fran made it clear that he is going to be there for the people of the fourth district. He has faithfully served our area as a friend, neighbor, businessman, certified financial planner and will continue to do so as our Congressman. Fran drove home the point that it is time for change in Washington and the time is now.
He was surrounded by his large family and his many friends as he finished up his formal announcement and present in the crowd were his many collegues from the legislature as well as prominent county officials who have thrown their support behind him. The impact that he has had on the many people that he has helped and served was evident by the large turnout at the Becker Planning office yesterday evening. The residents of the 4th District deserve the best, Fran Becker is the best. Last night was the start of great things to come in the 4th District. We certainly have some exciting weeks and months months ahead of us. As Fran said in his speech yesterday, "It's time to roll up our sleeves and get to work!"
